How to Close the Gap between Science and Policy?
André Jol and Connie Hedegaard
Environment - Interviews

André Jol, European Environment Agency, and Connie Hedegaard, former European commissioner for climate action, both granted to Re3 esclusive interviews at the last "European Climate Change Adaptation Conference" in Copenhagen in May 2015.

Their perspectives are different, therefore the emerging recipes for a successful exchange between science and policy differ. Interestingly though, the suggestions are complementary.

André stresses that some good practices of informed decision do exist already and thus need to be extended rather than invented, Connie points out the need of more efforts by the science community for a better and more timely communication of important research results.
