The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued the second volume of its Fifth Assessment Report on Climate Change, the most updated and comprehensive overview on scientific knowledge about climate change. In this volume Working Group 2 (WG2) illustrates the impacts of climate change at the global and regional levels, the vulnerability of human and natural systems, our ability to adapt to minimize the negative effects of the risks and reap the full benefits of the climate that will come about.

The projections, which look instead toward the future, are based on scenarios which tell us that the impacts are bound to increase. There is therefore a need for appropriate adaptation strategies to deal with them. The report sheds light on the consequences of climate change on ecological systems, human health, living conditions and socio-economic systems.

The video "All you need to know about the IPCC fifth Assessment Report. Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability" explores the contents of the Report, narrated by Italian authors:

The video is introduced by Jonathan Lynn, IPCC - Head, Communications and Media Relations.

The video was produced jointly by the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC), the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG).
